What: Live presentation on “monitoring forest growth and health through remote-sensing,”
followed by Q&A. Dr. Wynne will address the following:
The "state of the art" of forestry remote sensing;
Where forestry remote sensing fits in the historical context;
Emerging trends in sensor development;
Web-based delivery of spatial data and processing, and improved processing algorithms;
Changes in forestry (intensification, globalization, TIMOs/REITs, ecosystem services) and how they affect information required for sustainable forest management; and
Current collection methods for multiscale information on the forest resource and the best opportunities to improve both the value and quality of the information provided.

This is the second in the ImageTree Idea Leadership Series, created to promote innovative ideas for the preservation and management of forested environments.
